Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026
Community Access National Network ("CANN," "we," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use cannpolicy.org and our related services (the "Site"), how we use that information, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
When you submit a contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, register for a CANN event, or make a donation, we collect the information you provide — typically name, email address, organization, and any message you include.
Information collected automatically:
When you visit the Site, we collect standard web analytics data including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps. We use Google Analytics for this purpose.
Cookies and similar technologies:
We use cookies to operate the Site and to gather analytics. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; some Site features may not function correctly without them.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate the Site, respond to your inquiries, deliver newsletters you've subscribed to, process donations, understand how the Site is used, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
CANN does not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers acting on our behalf (for example, our email service provider, our payment processor, and our analytics provider) and only as needed to operate the Site. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CANN, our users, or others.
4. Newsletter and email communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you'll receive periodic emails from CANN. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
5. Donor information
Donor names may be listed in CANN's Annual Report and on partner or supporter pages of the Site at standard recognition levels. If you prefer to remain anonymous, indicate so when making your donation or email info@tiicann.org. We do not sell or rent donor lists.
6. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13. CANN does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently done so, we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can update or correct the information you've provided by contacting info@cannpolicy.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, the California Consumer Privacy Act). Contact us with any such requests.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with an effective date.
