NEWSLETTERS, PUBLICATIONS AND ARTICLESMMS produces Positive Populations; a bi-monthly newsletter covering infectious disease polices and program management within public health. During the past five years, Positive Populations has emerged as one of the nation’s leading newsletters addressing HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C (HCV) in the public health venue. Positive Populations began in April 1999 as a newsletter that covered infectious disease policies and procedures within correctional institutions, in particular HIV/AIDS and HCV. The newsletter has since broadened its focus, expanding its coverage of HIV/AIDS and HCV beyond corrections to encompass the entire realm of public health. In the process, Positive Populations has raised awareness about public health issues, underscoring the need to provide a high level of care for people with HIV/AIDS and HCV. The format for Positive Populations is clear, cogent and direct. It relies on a unique blend of hard news reporting and feature writing in order to appeal to the widest possible audience. Most issues are devoted to one or two overriding subjects while sidebars – shorter companion articles – are used to address and flush out related topics, thus giving our readership a wide breath of coverage. The newsletter also contains an ‘On the Horizon’ news section, providing our readership with the latest news and developments on HIV/AIDS and HCV. CONTACT INFORMATION
