Patrick Lee Bio

Patrick Lee is a Project Director with the Piedmont HIV Health Care Consortium in Durham, NC. He is working on a new project in the Piedmont area focusing on HIV and Hepatitis C co-infection.br>
Patrick began his work in the HIV field as a volunteer with the Eastern Triad HIV Consortium in Burlington, NC where he served as a board member from 1994 through 1998, with two terms as President. His work with and commitment to HIV/AIDS services has spanned 15 years, during which he has served on the Board of Directors for a number of community based organizations.

In 2001, Patrick renewed his involvement with the Eastern Triad HIV Consortium by agreeing to organize the North Carolina Council for Positive Living. In his capacity as Program Coordinator, Patrick developed programs that cultivated leadership and learning in PLWHA, fostered advocacy for HIV/AIDS related issues and encouraged the active and meaningful involvement of PLWHA at every level of planning and delivery of HIV-related services. He was also instrumental in the development of the North Carolina AIDS Action Network focusing on public policy issues as they relate to HIV/AIDS in North Carolina.

Through his involvement with the local and national HIV/AIDS community, Patrick has gained recognition as one of the leaders in grassroots advocacy for PLWHA. He served as co-chair for the 2003 National ADAP Conference and is currently and active member of the Southern AIDS Coalition. His affiliations include the North Carolina AIDS Advisory Council, the North Carolina AIDS Care Unit Advisory Committee, Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolina, and most recently a board member for the Title II Community AIDS National Network.

Patrick earned his Bachelor's degree in English and African American Studies from Mercer University. In 2001, Patrick completed his law degree at the University of North Carolina. Patrick has extensive experience in community building and non-profit management and organizational development.
